Interview With DADA

Q. If you could describe the company in one sentence? (Octopo is ___.)

A. Octopo is like slime.
Because it isn’t confined to a single mold — it adapts flexibly and evolves, as diverse individuals come together to create new forms and possibilities.

Q. What’s your ultimate work playlist?

A. The white-noise-like sound of my teammates typing, along with classical music flowing through the office.
It’s said that the brain functions more creatively with a gentle level of ambient noise rather than complete silence. Personally, I find that ideas come to me more easily in that kind of atmosphere.

Q. What’s a good day to work from home?

A. A day when I’m a little short on sleep.
Saving commute time and getting a bit more rest before starting the day actually helps improve my productivity.

Q. What’s a good day to come into the office?

A. A day when I’ve had plenty of sleep and feel fully energized.
When I’m full of energy, collaborating and communicating in person is more enjoyable, and I tend to generate more interesting ideas.

Q. What kind of person would fit well at Octopo?

A. Someone who enjoys exploration and experimentation.
Since our environment involves a variety of tasks and frequent feedback, those who can embrace the process and see it as an opportunity for growth would fit in well.

Q. What makes you most proud to work here?

A. Our structured feedback culture.
Because the standards and guidelines for feedback are clearly defined, there is less room for misunderstanding or unnecessary emotional strain. This allows us to focus more on the work itself and collaborate efficiently.

Q. When did you feel you grew the most after joining?

A. When I realized I was no longer afraid of trying something new.
Through repeated attempts and feedback, I gained the confidence to think, “Instead of it being hard because it’s my first time, I can learn by doing.”

Q. What would you like to say to someone considering applying to Octopo?

A. I hope you love what you do and believe in yourself.
If you trust your own potential and take on the challenge, you’ll discover that opportunities for growth are closer than you think.

Q. Who helps create a healthy team atmosphere?

A. Someone who listens openly to diverse perspectives and takes responsibility to mediate when necessary.
I’ve found that a team stays healthy when diversity is respected, and when someone is able to establish clear standards at the right moments.

Q. Which emoji do you use most often on Slack?

A. As the in-house “emoji factory manager,” I’m always the first to use any newly released company emoji.
