Interview With LIYA

Q. If you could describe the company in one sentence? (Octopo is ___.)

A. Octopo is a debate arena.
It’s a space where people actively discuss everything—from how to improve a piece to bigger topics like direction and composition—sharing opinions and accepting counterarguments. I especially enjoyed the discussion session during the last town hall meeting; it was fresh and really engaging

Q. What’s your ultimate work playlist?

A. Run Away, Leaf Village Defense Squad! Crayon Shin-chan – No Statute of Limitations Edition (1 Hour)
The melody is great, and it’s the perfect kind of song to pleasantly knock your mind out while working.

Q. What’s a good day to work from home?

A. A day with severe weather.
I simply don’t have the confidence to fight through several times more crowds and natural disasters than usual…

Q. What’s a good day to come into the office?

A. During students’ vacation periods.
The fresh air on public transportation when I first step on… and the seat waiting for me… Even if it’s brief, it makes life feel manageable.

Q. What kind of person would fit well at Octopo?

A. Someone passionate about their work and open to reasonable feedback.
Everyone genuinely tries to help each other, so someone with strong ambition would create great synergy. There’s frequent feedback because people care—if you don’t get discouraged and apply it well to your work, you’ll grow quickly.

Q. What makes you most proud to work here?

A. The view from the 7th floor.
When things aren’t going well and I feel stuck, going up there helps me clear my head

Q. When did you feel you grew the most after joining?

A. During the Brawl Stars UP66 season.
Before joining, I admired the sense of tension in Octopo’s portfolio and wanted to recreate that feeling. During this season, I was happy to achieve a result with a satisfying level of tension

Q. What would you like to say to someone considering applying to Octopo?

A. If you truly love your work, this is the right place for you.
You can feel everyone’s passion for their own projects. Working alongside people like that makes it even more exciting.

Q. Who helps create a healthy team atmosphere?

A. I don’t know much about other teams since they’re far away, but in the Brawl team: samu, jason, joe, max.
I secretly overhear their playful conversations next to me—it’s always fun. They create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Q. Which emoji do you use most often on Slack?

A. Writing a full reply might break my focus, but I still want to acknowledge I’ve checked it. A checkmark can feel a bit too blunt, so it’s the perfect middle ground
